Frequently asked questions
We buy a wide range of unwanted and end-of-life vehicles, including non-runners, MOT failures, accident-damaged cars, high-mileage vehicles and cars that are simply no longer needed.
No. We can consider non-running vehicles as well as cars with mechanical faults, accident damage or failed MOTs.
Simply send us your vehicle registration, location and a few details about the car. We’ll review the information and get back to you with a quote.
Quotes are based on the information provided about the vehicle. If the condition or details are different when the vehicle is inspected or handed over, the quote may need to be reviewed.
We aim to keep the process as quick and straightforward as possible. In many cases, sales can be completed quickly once the quote has been accepted and the handover arranged.
Where availability allows, we may be able to complete the sale on the same day or the following day. Timing will depend on the vehicle, location and availability.
Collection may be available depending on the vehicle and location. In some cases, drop-off may also be arranged.
Yes, drop-off may be available by prior arrangement. Contact us first so we can confirm the details.
Payment is made securely by bank transfer once the sale is complete.

Once the sale is complete, payment is sent by bank transfer without unnecessary delay.
Identification may be required as part of the legal checks carried out by licensed scrap metal dealers. We’ll let you know what is needed before the sale is completed.
It is helpful to have your V5C logbook where available, along with valid identification and any relevant vehicle information. If you are unsure what you need, contact us before the handover.
In some circumstances it may still be possible to sell a vehicle without the V5C, but additional checks may be required. Contact us with the vehicle details and we can advise on the next steps.
Vehicles intended for scrapping must ultimately be processed through the appropriate authorised treatment route. Wright Recycling operates as a licensed scrap metal dealer and handles vehicles in line with the relevant requirements.
